JUNE 15 2021

I certainly do not want to infringe on the privacies of individuals but on the other hand it is imperative to keep everyone safe. I also feel that if someone wants to join a team or go into any business, one needs to respect the rules of that team or business that they have put forth to protect all. Some people are still choosing to wear their mask even though they are fully vaccination and that is their right. When in doubt you should refer to the most recent CDC chart, see below. I know the rules are constantly being updated because this still a volatile situation and will be for a while because of the different strains popping up all around the world.

Here’s how I would like to see this work:

The SVJTL is working with a mixed group of children. I would like to keep the honor system between clubs. I don’t feel it is necessary for the children to carry their cards to the matches but if they choose to   that it is perfectly fine. I would like to keep the responsibility with each club. All the members of the SVJTL team must show their proof of vaccination (their vaccination card with dates vaccinated), to the coach or an adult at the club and the coach/adult should keep a list of names of those that are vaccinated. Anyone who chooses not to show proof must wear a mask. At the match, it should be enough for the coach to verify that a player is clear not to wear a mask.

                                                                     2021 CDC PANDEMIC GUIDLINES

Please find below the guidelines for play in the SVJTL for the 2021 summer.

  • Stay home if you have tested positive for COVID-19 or are waiting on test results, are showing COVID-19 symptoms, or have had a close contact  with a person who has tested positive for or who has symptoms of COVID-19.

  • Bring your own equipment, like hats, rackets, and water bottles, if possible, to limit shared equipment.

  • Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arm lengths) from other players when possible.

  • Wear a mask* that covers your nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others.

   *   If you are FULLY VACCINATED you may choose to refrain from wearing a mask while playing, but must                    follow  club rules (may be different for each club) while either in the clubhouse, on the grounds or while                        watching matches. If you are UNVACCINATED you are REQUIRED to wear a mask at ALL times (during                  carpool, while at the club and WHILE PLAYING)
It is the responsibility of the individual clubs to know who is vaccinated and who is not and to make sure those             who are NOT are following the mask guidelines at all times. Coaches should check with clubs BEFORE matches         to see what each clubs guidelines are for fully vaccinated visitors as some clubs may require everyone to be                   masked.

  • Clean or sanitize your hands before and after practices, games, and sharing equipment.

Tell a coach or staff member if you don’t feel well.
